In our working lives, many of us are expected to speak in public, or to address a group of colleagues, customers, or associates. Yet, even the most able among us often experience anxiety and self-doubt on these occasions, fearful that our performance on the day will fall short of the mark. ‘Stage Fright – Overcome Performance Nerves’ is a one-day course delivered by world-class communications specialist Michael Comyn and renowned psychologist Rhoda Draper to address this very issue. The course uses interactive tuition to instruct you on how to address an audience with confidence and composure and is conducted in a safe environment. You will be given special relaxation techniques for future use, so that you take away a skill set that will boost your CV and let you embrace public speaking opportunities for what they really are: a platform from which to promote your organisation and your career. Practice, Review and Critique Constructive feedback and advice is given throughout the day seeking to build on the ability of the participant. This detailed feedback is considered one of the most important parts of this programme. The workshop is distinct from other programs on public speaking in that its exclusive focus is on addressing the fear associated with speaking up rather than on teaching presentation skills. Part One: Stage Fright – Putting it in Perspective
Part Two: Techniques for Dealing with the Phobia
Part Three: Practical Exercises – Putting it to the Test
Part Four: Assessment and Feedback
Voluntary Presentation Participants can bring along a short three-minute presentation on a subject of their choice, if they so wish.
