Course Aims:
To enable managers to manage and support the consistent achievement of required performance standards through their team members: To enable managers to deal with situations in which performance standards are not being met within their team.

  • Know how to address gaps between performance and expectations with staff, informally and formally
  • Understand how to approach capability or disciplinary performance issues
  • Have a clear understanding of the requirements of consistent and effective performance management
  • Have practised a coaching approach to grow and develop capabilities within the team
  • Have a framework for providing on-going feedback to your team
  • Be able to identify when an issue needs to be addressed
  • Be able to state and communicate the issue in terms of performance and impact
  • Have practice in discussing performance issues, both at the formal (disciplinary) and informal level
  • Have developed an understanding of the requirements of relevant employment legislation
